Module AFHA
Produce the Aircraft Functional Hazard Assessment.
Process:
Starting from the list of Aircraft Functions, the first step is to define the Functional Failure Modes based on the Generic Functional Failure Modes.
Then, for each Functional Failure Mode, the second step is to define Aircraft Functional Scenarios, considering the Flight Phases, the Intensifying Factors and the combinations with other Functional Failure Modes.
Finally, the Scenarios will be merged in Aircraft Failure Conditions. The Detection means, the Corrective actions and the final Effects on Aircraft, Flight Crew and Occupants will determine the Safety Classification.

| Class of Data | Definition |
| Aircraft Failure Condition | An aircraft condition having an effect on the aircraft and/or its occupants, either direct or consequential. |
| Aircraft Failure Scenario | A set of functional failures (from 1 to 3) leading to an Aircraft Failure Condition, considering flight phase and relevant adverse operational or environmental conditions, or external events. |
| Aircraft Functional Failure Mode | A specific way in which an Aircraft Function fail (Total loss, Partial loss, Erroneous functioning, …). |
| Aircraft Function | Intended behavior of the Aircraft, regardless of implementation. The aircraft functions can be defined on 3 levels. |

Main Features:
- List, View, Edit, Duplicate, Delete the Aircraft Functional Failure Modes, the Aircraft Functional Scenarios and the Aircraft Failure Conditions.
- Generate the reports for the AFHA Certification report : list of Aircraft Functions assessed, AFHA worksheet and list of Failure Conditions with their Safety Classification.
- Manage the assumptions used for the definition of the Functional Failure Modes, the Functional Scenarios and the Failure Conditions.
- Create a new link from a Functional Failure Mode to a Scenario (3 options available)
- Consider the combinations of 2 or 3 Functional Failure Modes in a Functional Scenario.
- Provide a Top-Down view to show the arborescence from the Failure Condition to the Functional Failure Modes
- Provide a Bottom-Up view to navigate quickly from the Functions the Failure Conditions (see picture above)
- Provide a Summary View of the module, with filters on Function, Failure Mode, Scenario, Phase, Intensifying Factor, Failure Condition and Severity.
- Link Detection means and Corrective actions to the Failure Conditions
- Provide a Matrix Effect / Severity for each Failure Condition
- Define means for the validation of the severity of the Failure Condition (bridge to the A/C VALID module) and Architecture scenarios (bridge to the PASA module).
