Module
Aircraft Validation

Validate the Safety classification of the Aircraft Failure Conditions and the assumptions from the AFHA / PASA.

Process:

The following process should be executed for each non CATASTROPHIC Aircraft Failure Condition :
A first (optional) step is to define the Aircraft Effects for each criteria of the severity matrix (Effect on Criteria such as aircraft, occupants or flight crew; or at more detailed level if needed).
A second (optional) step is to list the Aircraft Assumptions (organized per Type) for the Failure Condition overall, or for a specific effect. These assumptions can be turned into Safety Requirements in the Aircraft Requirement module.

Finally, this module allows to determine the Aircraft Validation Actions to be performed (by a Discipline per Validation Methods and Means) to validate the assumptions or the Failure Condition itself.

Class of Data Definition
Aircraft EffectA description of the operation of the Aircraft as the result of a Failure Condition, on a specific Criteria. The Aircraft Effect is associated with a Safety Classification.
Aircraft AssumptionStatements, principles and/or premises offered without proof.
Aircraft Validation ActionAction to support the determination that a Safety Requirement is correct and complete.

Main Features:

  • List, View, Edit, Duplicate, Delete the Aircraft Effects, the Aircraft Assumptions and the Aircraft Validation Actions.
  • Generate the appendix for the AFHA Validation report :
    • Validation status,
    • Validation Worksheet,
    • List of Assumptions and
    • List of Validation actions.
  • Provide a list of Failure Conditions with the number of related Effects, Assumptions and Actions, with a quick access to each of them. (see screenshot above)
  • Provide a traceability between the Aircraft Assumptions and the:
    • Functions,
    • Functional Failure Modes,
    • Functional Scenarios,
    • Failure Conditions,
    • Aircraft Effects,
    • Validation Actions,
    • Architecture Scenarios and – System Failure Modes.
  • Provide a Summary View of the module, with filters on Failure Condition, Criteria, Effect, Aircraft Effect, Assumption (Type, Reference and Text), Discipline, Validation Method and Validation Mean.
  • Provide a Top-Down view to show the arborescence from the Failure Condition to the Validation Plan.
